Back to zero

I cried without tear :( ... So careless, I didn't realize I make an extra YO on the love pattern of my baby dress. It's a silly and stupid mistake, and partly was due to my lack of concentration ... With no choice, I tried to undo it row by row, but at the end of one hour, only 3 rows was done ... then I gave up. I pulled it off from the needle, and now everything is back to zero. Luckily it was only 20 rows of knits, otherwise I won't pulled it off from the needle. Sounds like I am an impatient person :)) ... Tonight I will cast on the front of baby dress again, with no more silly mistake is allowed, otherwise, by the time I completed the project, the dress might be too small to fit the little girl (as you all know, baby below 24 months will grow fast).
After that mistake, I make an excuse for myself by taking a break from knitting. Then, I spent the rest of my night on wrapping and browsing through the knitting magazines. For the moment, I am in the process of looking for a right pattern for my 100% bamboo yarn. Can't wait to start a new project with this lovely soft bamboo yarn, and, hopefully the knits will turn out nicely or positively.
Happy knitting!!!

WIP - Baby dress

After an unscheduled Hong Kong trip, and now I am back for knitting :) ... This is the first look of the baby dress in pink and purple. There are some little love along the bottom edge of the dress, but this image couldn't show it clearly. Will move on to the front of this little dress on tomorrow, and hopefully I can complete this project in another 1-2 weeks time. Can't wait to start a new project with my lovely yarn from Hong Kong ;)

Yarn shopping

After a long silent from my blog, I am back now. I just came back from Hong Kong on last night with some lovely yarn in my luggage. Thanks a lot to my friend, Eva, who brought me to her favourite LYS, Cheer Wool for the lovely yarn. Apart from that, I did have a brief meet with Kimberli and Marjorie while I was having my yarn shopping with Eva.

Is it nice? It is
Puppy's Camargue in varigated purple, pastel blue and yellow. I am going to use this lovely yarn for one of the design from Let's Knit Series - 2005 Spring/Summer.

This is Sahara in my favourite light blue from Madil. As mentioned by Eva, since the yarn is made with 70% viscose and 30% linen, which mean it would be an ideal choice for warm-weather knits like Malaysia.

Eden by Madil is an Italian yarn made from 100% bamboo. The yarn is so soft to touch with. I bought some in peach and white, but I haven't decided what to knit with.

Apart from my HK yarn shopping, I received my Soho Summer from the Webs on this morning too. The shade is in blue, but the actual shade is darker than I saw from internet :( ... That the reason why we should invest on the shade card which will give us the exact colour of the shade.

Lastly, this is Miami in yummy light orange which I bought from LYS 2 weeks ago. As the conclusion, May is the month where I spent most on the knitting books, magazine and yarn. What's next? The next thing is, I need to have more FOs with all these lovely yarns, otherwise, I couldn't find a reason to buy more lovely yarns for my stash ;) ...

What's up?

Almost one week since my last posting, and also, it is about 1 week since I completed my vest project. Now, I am working on a new project, a baby dress in purple and pink. By now, only 50% of the back is completed.
Last night, I couldn't make much progress for the little dress. There is a cut on my finger, I didn't realise it until I picked up the knitting needles. When I knit, the yarn keep flitting on the cut area, eventually force me to put a paster to cover it; but with the paster on, it make the knitting process so inconvenient ... leaving me with no option, and put down the pair of needles :( ... Hopefully I can resume the knitting on tonight.

It is done !!!

After a long low productive period, at last, I got my first FO in 2005. The result is not too bad, but just wonder how come the armholes are short of 1cm than the expected length??? Did I read the measurement tape wrongly??? Anyway, it still can fit me in ... Since the design for the front and back are identical, so, I can take either side as front when I wear it :)
What next? Most properly it would be a baby dress ...
Design: Sleeveless vest
Yarn: 6 balls of Majolica (100% cotton)
Date of completion: 04/05/2005
